| dc.description.abstract | This report, written by two Erasmus exchange students from Leuven University in Belgium, examines the issue of domestic violence and abuse in Norway, and children’s right to protection from this serious problem.
The report includes a literature review on the nature of this problem and of the legal framework for protecting children’s rights in this area. The main focus is a presentation of programs and services aimed at combating this problem which are being provided by various organizations at the national and local level.
These include advocacy organizations such as the Ombudsman for Children and Save the Children, Norway as well as service oriented agencies including Children’s House in Trondheim and the Sexual Abuse team at St. Olavs Hospital.
The report documents the contributions of these organizations and points to several areas for improvement including the need for better coordination between agencies and improved methods for talking with children about this problem. | nb_NO |
